On November 7, 2024, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia together with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the support of the “Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia” held a workshop dedicated to the launch of the project “Intellectual property as a driver for a sustainable Armenian wine industry.”
The workshop was attended by the WIPO delegation headed by the Deputy Director General Hasan Kleib, the Deputy Minister of Economy Sevak Mikayelyan, the Head of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the RA Kristine Hambaryan, the Chairwoman of the Tourism Committee Lusine Gevorgyan, the representative of the “Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia” and guests related to the field.
During the workshop, the project “Intellectual property as a driver for a sustainable Armenian wine industry” has been launched, the viticulture and winemaking industry and perspectives of Armenia were presented, and the role of intellectual property in the field of identity, branding and reputation of Armenian winemaking was discussed.
The main goal of the project is to increase the level of knowledge, skills and intellectual property application among wine producers, increase the value of the product and competitiveness.
