From November 20 to 21, 2025, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) jointly with the European Union held a Conference on Copyright in Alicante, Kingdom of Spain, which was attended by the Head of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the employees of the Օffice.
During the conference, topics such as copyright in the digital age, support programmes and educational initiatives for representatives of the cultural and creative sectors, as well as effective solutions to online copyright infringements, were discussed. During the conference, the official opening of the EUIPO Copyright Education Center took place, an initiative aimed at strengthening copyright protection and raising awareness.
One of the main objectives of the visit to Alicante was the meeting between the heads of the Intellectual Property Office of Armenia and the European Union Intellectual Property Office to discuss ways for bilateral cooperation, which will be further strengthened thanks to the recent inclusion of the Republic of Armenia in the EU4IP project. The goal of the project is to strengthen intellectual property rights in Armenia.
Within the framework of the conference, an agreement was reached with the Executive Director of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), João Negrao, on his visit to Armenia in 2026.
