The training course “IP in Action: Basics for Future Innovators” is scheduled to take place in Yerevan on June 15–16, 2026. The course is jointly organized by the WIPO Academy, the AUA Extension, and the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
Intellectual property plays an important role in the economic, social, and cultural development of a country. Recognizing the importance of the effective use of intellectual creations and the reliable protection of intellectual property rights, the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia continuously implements targeted reforms aimed at the development and strengthening of the national intellectual property system.
Within the framework of these initiatives, in 2023, the Intellectual Property Training Center (IPTC) of the Republic of Armenia was established through the cooperation between the WIPO Academy and the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Armenia. In 2024, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Armenia and the American University of Armenia, launching the Intellectual Property Training Program (IPTP) under the National Intellectual Property Training Center of the Republic of Armenia.
This course serves as the inaugural course of the National Intellectual Property Training Center of the Republic of Armenia and marks its official opening. In the coming years, additional courses on various intellectual property topics will be organized within the framework of the IPTP program.
During this interactive course, participants will learn to distinguish different types of intellectual property rights and understand the fundamentals of their protection, identify online and offline intellectual property infringements and their impact, and explore opportunities for the commercialization of intellectual property through licensing, franchising, and other mechanisms. The course includes interactive lectures and practical assignments designed for young people with introductory knowledge of intellectual property or those who are entirely new to the field.
