The 6th edition of the IP Case Law Conference, organized by the Boards of Appeal of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), was held in Alicante, Kingdom of Spain, from 21 to 22 May 2026, and was attended by three high-ranking judges involved in the decision-making process on intellectual property, appointed by the Judicial Department of the Republic of Armenia.
The conference was held within the framework of the "EU4IP" program. In December 2025, the decision to include the Republic of Armenia in the EUIPO "EU4IP" program was approved, which aims to promote and strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights in Armenia. During the two years of the program's implementation, it is planned to hold events, meetings, workshops aimed at the development of the sector, as well as reforms of the legislative framework.
The aim of the conference on IP case law was to bring together high-ranking IP judges, lawyers, academics, corporate lawyers and representatives from across Europe to promote discussions and exchange of experience on the development of intellectual property case law. The conference agenda included keynote speeches, panel discussions and sessions addressing developments in the European intellectual property legal framework. The topics discussed during the conference included issues of trademark protection, mechanisms for legal protection of industrial designs, EUIPO's litigation practice and international experience, as well as the impact of artificial intelligence on the development of intellectual property rights and the formation of litigation strategies.
