On 7 July 2026, the 68th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) commenced in Geneva, Swiss Confederation, bringing together delegations of WIPO Member States, representatives of international organizations, and other stakeholders.
During the Assemblies, Ms. Kristine Hambaryan, Head of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, delivered the General Statement on behalf of the Republic of Armenia. At the outset of her statement, she congratulated WIPO Director General Daren Tang on his re-election and wished him every success in the continued discharge of his duties.
The statement highlighted the key reforms and achievements in the field of intellectual property in the Republic of Armenia during 2025. In particular, it addressed the improvement of the legislative framework, the protection of intellectual property rights, efforts to raise public awareness, the expansion of international cooperation, as well as the implementation of new initiatives. Ms. Hambaryan also emphasized the strong and productive cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and WIPO, expressing appreciation for the technical and expert assistance provided by the Organization.
The 68th Series of Meetings of the WIPO Assemblies will continue until 15 July 2026, during which a number of key issues related to the Organization's activities will be discussed.
