From September 28 to October 1, 2026, the Regional Conference entitled “Intellectual Property and Creative Industries: Unlocking the Intellectual Property Potential of the Audiovisual Industry” was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. The Republic of Armenia was represented at the Conference by representatives of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the Cinema Foundation of Armenia. The Conference was organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), within the framework of the EU-funded EU4IP program.

The Conference addressed issues related to the protection of copyright and related rights in audiovisual works, ownership of rights, licensing and commercialization, as well as the activities of collective management organizations. Particular attention was paid to the distribution and monetization of audiovisual content in the digital environment, combating online infringements, and legal challenges arising from the use of artificial intelligence. The discussions also covered opportunities for developing regional co-productions and facilitating access to international markets.

Within the framework of the Conference, the representative of the Intellectual Property Office exchanged views with representatives of various countries on existing challenges in the field and national approaches to addressing them, while gaining insight into international and regional practices. Representatives of the Armenian Film Foundation actively participated in the panel discussions, presenting Armenia’s experience and approaches in the audiovisual and film industries. The concluding discussions emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation, exchanging experience, and developing joint initiatives aimed at strengthening professional capacities for the effective protection and use of intellectual property in the audiovisual sector.
